How we do Business
What our customers say...
"Dear Pascale and Team. They say that the "proof is in the pudding". Well in your case, it was in the salmon, the quiches and the wonderful chicken- everything was marvellous, beautifully presented and most importantly you really allowed Lucy and me to have a great evening! "
Justin R.
"Thank you to the Little Dagnall Catering Company for the gorgeous food served on our ruby wedding anniversary." Sue and David C.
First steps…
Please contact us as soon as you have a rough idea of when your event is going to take place so that we can check availability and ensure enough attention to make the best arrangements for your event. We will then come and meet you to discuss your particular wishes, menu options and to assess the venue.
Tasting...
To reassure you about the quality and presentation of our dishes, we offer you the opportunity to taste the food. We are happy for you to sample as many dishes as you like, at no extra charge, before you make a final decision.
Numbers
We usually cater for a minimum of 18 people and a maximum of 200. The prices quoted on our menus reflect that number.
In January 2011, we launched our “Small Dinner Parties” service for 6 to 14 guests on weekdays or Sundays only. Pascale will come and cook in your house, prepare the table, either using your own china and table linens or using her own, and present your special meal. Waitress service can be added if you wish, and you will be able to entertain your guests in the comfort and convenience of your own home without worrying about a thing!
Menu items can be decided by you or you can choose from our selection (under Sit-Down Menu).
The all important money…
Deposit
We will send you a written quotation setting out the basis of our discussions, what you have selected and the cost. This will be valid for 10 days, and on your written acceptance we will reserve your date in our events-diary. This means we may turn away other business for that day, and will order food in preparation as date approaches, so we will ask for a deposit.
For bookings less than 3 months in advance, we require a 75% deposit on confirmation/firm booking, with the outstanding amount to be paid within 15 days after the event.
For bookings between 3 and 6 months in advance, we require a 50% deposit on confirmation/firm booking, an additional 25% 3 months prior to the event, with the outstanding amount to be paid within 15 days after the event.
For bookings more than 6 months in advance we require a 25% deposit on confirmation, a further 25% 6 months prior to the event, and an additional 25% 3 months prior to the event, with the outstanding amount to be paid within 15 days after the event.
We will invoice you for these amounts so you know when and how to pay.
Cancellation Charges
The following cancellation charges will apply, in each case, plus any third party costs which we have committed to for your event and which we are unable to avoid (for example equipment hire cancellation fees). We will act reasonably to minimise such charges and will only charge you the same amount we are unable to avoid. We will also inform you of what third party equipment and services we will be committing to for your event, in advance of doing so.
For cancellations 12 months or more prior to the event date, there will be no charge.
For cancellations between 12 months and 6 months prior to the event, the charge will be 25% of the expected quoted charges.
For cancellations between 6 months and 3 months prior to the event, the charge will be 50% of the quoted charges.
For cancellations less than 3 months prior to the event, the charge will be 75% of the quoted charges.
All cancellations must be made in writing and will be deemed to take effect from the date when received by us. We would appreciate a telephone call to advise us as early as possible as well, please.
Final numbers and choices
The final number of guests and the menu need to be confirmed by you at least two weeks before the event.
Who does what...
We cook, of course, but also set up, clear up, and take away the dirty crockery and glasses. We organise waiting staff for you. We also try to match your choice of theme event and are always happy to adapt our menus so that they fit with what you had in mind.
You, on the other hand, will have to worry about the guest list, the sitting arrangements and the music on the night!
